A year ago today, the Bluebonnet Child book was printed for publication by Wipf and Stock. I viewed this as an omen of sorts since July 7th is my best friend’s birthday. While seeing one’s idea printed on paper is exhilarating, hearing folks share of how this lil’ book has enhanced their serve to kids [ ]. The Texas Bluebonnet Award is a reading program sponsored by the Texas Library Association to encourage students in third through sixth grades to read a variety of current children’s literature. Each year the Texas Bluebonnet Committee reads hundreds of current children’s books and selects twenty of those books to be nominees for that year.

  After-school Book Club that reads books from the Texas Library Association's Annual Bluebonnet list. For children in 3rd - 6th grade. Children's 1 and 2. th graders! Bluebonnet Bunch Book Club be. Bluebonnet Youth Ranch will assist children in developing skills for self-control by modeling, then setting limits and parameters for acceptable behavior. Discipline shall be constructive, educational in nature, fair, reasonable, consistent, and appropriate to the child’s age, development, situation, and severity of the misbehavior.

  Benjamin Vincent, Bluebonnet and MBC; The Franklin County Historical Association soon commissioned us to create a book that would help teach Franklin County children about their history. MBC and I made several trips to Mount Vernon, and were joined by illustrator Benjamin Vincent for a special day of touring the numerous historical sites.
